The electronics for the NavSat 120 are mounted on the back of the dish. The module on the left above is the Antenna Control Unit (ACU) with all
the station memory received stored here from the below decks PC or Laptop PC data input. The module on the right is the Motor Drive Unit (MDU) that controls four different motors that continuously change the
attitude of the dish according to the ship motion.
The ACU also receives data input from the NMEA gyro compass and GPS inputs to find the specified satellite station. The Conical Scan circuitry
maintains the lock on the satellite once reception has been established.
All electronics are totally screened and protected in the watertight electronics boxes shown above. All external plugs are watertight and shielded.
